Miguel+Gabriel Roaring 20's Wedding

I love them and this post has been a long time coming, these are the first things that must be said. I met Miguel and Gabriel for a photoshoot in Barcelona a few years back while they weren't even engaged and they won my heart so the minute they told me they were getting married and wanted me to shoot their wedding my heart skipped a beat and all I could say was "hell YES"!!

The wedding was a 3 day event at Liguerre de Cinca, in Huesca, at a stunning resort where all the guests could spend both nights and get ready together for what would be the party of the year (if not the century)! As the theme was "Roaring 20's" the guests flew in from all over the globe (Miguel and Gabriel like to travel and make friends everywhere), dressed up and partied the weekend away - me included! Also, this was the wedding where I broke my toe right after the ceremony and kept through shooting until the end of the party, but that's a whole other story!;)

Tiago is a photographer, this is the first thing that needs to be said. Julia is a researcher that went to San Francisco to study and Tiago went with her, as they didn't want to be apart. And there they decided they loved each other so much they didn't want to spend any more time not being husband and wife, so despite being far away from their families in Germany and Portugal they planned to elope. Luckily for me, we had the opportunity to have some pre-wedding photos taken the day before their elopement and Tiago thought of all the best places: San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts, the vintage arcade shop and the fair by the pier. And it was amazing!

My work year began in Scotland, for Kaajal and Shailesh's wedding. For a cold and windy day it was probably the most comfortable I've ever been. Having spoken to the only online before, Kaaji and Lesh made me feel welcome and part of the gang straight away. Their wonderful family and friends were probably some of the warmest people I've met and it was the perfect day to begin what came to be a wonderful season!

Being Indian, Kaajal and Shailesh were planning a big Indian wedding back home, but wanted to get away with the closest and fondest and have a special civil ceremony, just for them, and chose me to capture this day. They chose the Dumbarton Registry for the event and the Falls of Falloc, where Lesh proposed, to have some pictures taken. My day was supposed to be short and quick - only a few hours for the civil wedding and subsequent photos, but I just couldn't get myself to leave and stop taking pictures of the both of them, their loved ones, and their happiness, so when I got back to my hostel later that evening, I came to think this is exactly why I love doing what I do: because of people like these two! They are in love, and happy, and my goodness they sure are perfect for each other! How can one want for more?

Since they are a young Portuguese couple living abroad in a colder country than ours, the ideia was to shoot on the beach by late afternoon but the tide was high and the access to the beach was blocked so we ended up wandering around the surroundings of Figueira da Foz and Serra da Boa Viagem and caught the most amazing sunset!
